Brodhead Pietenpol Association

Could anyone share photos and/or drawings of the pedal layout for brakes? How are they positioned in relation to the rudder bar? We are currently thinking of heel brake pedals. Any comments or recommendations?

We are starting to assemble control cables and have questions the deflection angles for the elevators? What are the maximum up and down angles for the elevators ? Are the up and down limits/angles the same?

We are evaluating how to install wheel brakes and possible a steering tail wheel. The classic Pietenpol rudder bar would not seem to work with these, and we assume a pedal configuration is substituted. Would anyone like to share their concepts and layouts ? Photos or drawings would be great!

We did a more thorough inventory of the tail feathers and components we have inherited and found we do have 9 sets of finished hinges. Great to see a thriving supply chain for Pietenpol parts.

Where can I source the cast aluminum rudder hinges "now used as standard equipment" listed on drawing 2 ?

We are building a Corvair powered Pietenpol and have been donated an engine mount similar to the one in the attached photograph (not ours, but appears to be the same as our donated version)

What are members opinions on the alternative ways of installing the tail post - add a tail post to both fuselage sides, chamfer down to 1/2 ", glue together at same time longerons are glued together OR glue longerons together and add one piece/solid tail post.?

We are an EAA Chapter in Sonoma , CA, just starting to build a Pietenpol. We have completed the fuselage sides using a jig , without any heat treatment of the longerons to aid bending.
