Pietenpol-List: Western Aircraft Supply

FYI... yesterday I finally received my shipment of fuselage materialfrom Western Aircraft Supply. The spruce is of SUPREME quality.Absolutely perfect. If you order from him, and you live in the US,however, be prepared to wait about a week for the wood to clearcustoms. Man! What a lot of hassle that was! Anyway, now that I have it I can start building something to sit in...The pieces in the kit are cut to the the right lengths (actually justover) and you cut the appropriate angles, etc, to fit it together, and90% of them are labed as to what they are, and where they go (writtenon masking tape). I'm very impressed. Only one piece got damaged inshipping, and it was a small piece, easily replaced.A very happy Camper,Richard==http://www.wrld.com/w3builderNow you can buy my CD at MP3.com:http://db.mp3.com/Visitor/order.php3?cd ... Check with your shipper for a "freight forwarder" or "customsbroker" office. They do this all the time, know the forms and ofteneven the customs officers personally and usually the cost is minimal.Good Luck,WarrenDave and Connie wrote:>> >Absolutely perfect. Jean Peters is really the spruce person when it comes aircraft. But when I was getting my fuse wood from him, he told me that he isretiring as of June 2001. So we got a year to get wood from him.Carl________________________________________________________________________________

Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: RE:Western Aircraft SupplyIn a year old piet message Dave ( Dave and Connie) wrote about using Jean Peters at Western Aircraft Supply in Calgary. I tried to locate this company ( I wanted to find someone Piet familar- that I could place an order for all the nuts and bolts( and a few extra) for the Piet -- rather then going over each dwg and trying to fiugure all the sizes myself. Does anyone have info or tell no for this co,?thanks Henry Williams- almost ready to start on controls________________________________________________________________________________Date: Fri, 16 Nov 2001 09:32:20 -0800 (PST)

The discussion on this list about a year ago, was that the guy who has thisoperation was retiring. I think that now we are at least six months pastwhatever date it was supposed to happen. Check the archives and you willfind a discussion.I also remember nothing but good comments about dealing with him, so it maybe worth pestering the guy to supply the makings of "just one more Piet".Mike________________________________________________________________________________
