Pietenpol-List: video

Hi List! Yesterday I received my video from Michael Cuy. I'm mad atMichael now because I stayed up till all hours of the night watching, thenre-watching it. It's about 2+ hours of really neat flying scenes (coupledwith appropriate music), assembly scenes (which were really good, and he putin lots and lots of tips) and scenes from the 1998 Brodhead fly-in (thereare two girls flying a Ford equipped Piet, I nearly fell over, that was theneatest thing I've seen! I want to hear their story!).In my opinion, if there is anyone out there that either has a Piet, or isconsidering building a Piet, then I feel this video is a "must have". Ifyou're going to buy belt buckles, hats, and t-shirts, in order to promotethe hobby and preserve history, this you'll want to include this tape in themix also. Also on the tape is Michaels VERY FIRST flight, and very first successfullanding! There are clips where he's showing the Piet to school agechildren, plus other scenes where he's showing his Piet to us olderchildren.Nope, I'm not getting a free tape, or one penny, for this post. But as anewcomer (to the Pietenpol end of the hobby,) I have to say that I learneda tremendous amount from watching it, and highly recommend it.This video is a worthwhile and important addition to any persons or clubslibrary.Robert (Hey Michael, I want a free ride in your Piet now!) Michael, I have been ignoring most of the Piet paraphernalia that seems to be dominating the 'discussions' lately and have even contemplated unsubscribing but then along comes something like your video which seems to be getting rave revues. Unfortunately, I don't recall seeing your original offer with price and ordering details. I am close to covering my 'A' powered project and would relly like to see your tape. would you please repeat this info for me and any others who may have missed it. Thanx, Don Hicks________________________________________________________________________________

As we all so often do.... we can unwittingly infect the address book of recipientsif we inadvertently "cross-pollinate" via email. To prevent this, rather than simply hitting the Forward button on your email, Copyand Paste the text, graphics, etc., into a New Email, and BCC all recipients. This generally stops any virus from rippling thru multiple email acccounts.--------Tom KreinerRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ______Date: Mon, 15 Nov 2010 11:01:31 -0700Subject: Pietenpol-List: video

Hi - Don't have any photos but I can describe it pretty quickly. Bottom line:stole it from Sky Gypsy. There are a lot of them out there like that.I put an aluminum cover over the bottom bay below the elevator bellcrank/walkingbeam thing. When covering, I glued the edges of the fabric around the structuralmembers up inside the access hole to get the required 1" gluing surface. The aluminum is attached with 4 corner bolts into nutplates. Then I put inseveral screws to keep the thing from vibrating. There are a couple of cutoutsin the plate that I use for ground handling grab points.Hope this helps.--------Kevin "Axel" PurteeNX899KPAustin/Georgetown, TXRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ______Date: Mon, 15 Nov 2010 13:09:15 -0800 (PST)
