I recently purchased a very nice Pietenpol with a Continental 0-200 engine anda metal prop. I definitely like the looks of a wood prop. much better. I contactedSensenich and they suggested their W72GK-46 propeller. Has anyone out therehad any experience with this combination. Thanks, Tim Sarasota FL.________________________________________________________________________________

Tim,Before changing from a metal prop to a wooden one, be sure that the changewon't mess up your weight and balance. Piets are notoriously tail heavy. Awooden prop might weigh as much as 20 lbs less than a metal one. Just besure this isn't going to put you into a tail heavy condition.Jack -----Original Message-----

Most metal props for the small continentals are about 22 lbs and most woodprops are around 11 lbs.Don't forget that you will need new bolts and the 3991 squash plate....chris bobka-----Original Message-----

I was curious about the GK in the prop designator. I am used to seeing a CKfor the small Continentals so I looked to find out the difference. Itappears that the CK props are for the 65 and lower hp engines and the GK isfor the 75 to 100 hp engines. That means, Tim, that a prop with a CK in the designator will NOT do the jobeven though it will fit the crank's flange.Chris Bobka-----Original Message-----

Bruce,The design does best with a slow turning engine, lots of torque and a bigpropeller. If it is the Lycoming O-145 you mean, the continental A-65 willdo better.Chris Bobka-----Original Message-----
