I've claimed 100 mph top speed when flogging it, and 90 mph as a high end cruise.Did some verification with the GPS this weekend and my airspeed indicatorreads about 10% high. So, I top out at 90mph at WOT (2850 rpm), 85 at 2800, 80at 2700, 75 at 2600. I figured out I lied to you as I was getting my rear end handed to me by a headwindon my x-country to Austin.FYIKevin PurteeNX899KP (Corvair)Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Lexan Windshield Cracks

So what are you asking for it, Jim? And if the Markle Air Lift happens, will that be enough to keep you building? Have you considered becoming aGigolo and selling your body to wealthy women?Jack PhillipsNX899JPRaleigh, NCSoon to be a shareholder in Markle Enterprises-----Original Message-----

Dang Jim... so sorry to hear you had to come to this decision. A real bummer forall concerned... that's about all I can say.
I was really looking forward to flying over green country with you, and I knowyou were too... I hope we can still do that some day.--------Mark - working on wingsRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Selling my Pietenpol Project

Hi Gardiner - When we talked on the phone you mentioned that the CHTs went up afteryou'd been running the plane on the ground for 20 - 30 minutes. The connectionwas bad so I may have misunderstood. Does the rise to 400 happen as soonas you advance the throttle or after several minutes of ground run? 400 ishigh, but I would be less surprised to see the CHTs that high after an extendedground run. Also, does it stabilize at 400 or does it continue to rise? Ivaguely recall William Wynne suggesting a CHT redline of 450?The advice the other guys gave sounds like a reasonable series of tests/fixes/checks.I'd work through their suggestions before adding anything extra to theprop or hub to push extra air. I have basic eyebrow cowls and they work fine.Respectfully,Kevin PurteeNX899KP512-422-6371Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Lexan Windshield Cracks
