Today was jackpot day!
In the mail today, my plans came from Don Pietenpol, and my DVD from Mike Cuy came. Buster Brown brought the last of the books Ihad been waiting to get here from EAA. Like Christmas in June.
Now all I need is an A&P job or some kind of job that will produce enough incometo pay bills, and buy wood.
I put Mike's DVD in the computer (I haveWindows Vista on this one) and it started. It doesn't want to fast forward, orskip ahead when I ask it to. It will pause when I ask it to, so hopefully, Iwon't be limited to the DVD player to watch it. Another bonus for the day!

Here's mine. The back is 7 1/2" tall and oval shapedto get the transition from TB to fuse sides more inline. The harness exit is even with my shoulders.Clif>My question is, is there any negative consequences to raising it an inch and a half? It looks better to me a little higher, and Ive seen some really raised.>> Also, I have all of my seat parts cut and I want to install them, but I'm > wondering about seat belt and shoulder harness locations. The Prop I have is a 76 X 46 Sensenich and turns 2000 Plus , but the Prop thatis on the Funk powered Piet is a 76 X 44 and turns 2000 and a Sensenich Semitardesign and will pull the Piet at 85 with two people. That is where your propwith the proper flex will go into over drive when backed down on the throttle. My estimate or guess, you should cruise along nicely at 70 plus around 1800.Neat looking Piet Pieti LowellRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Plans are here

Yep, you are right that it would be a convenient way to get started, but it wouldindeed start to add up. Your hobby shop may be more reasonable than mine. Most of the ones here are chainstores like Hobby Lobby or specialized hobby outlets (R/C aircraft). A goodselection, but given the quantity of materials we require, none of them offerthe best deal in wood products. I know that there are also marine outlets, but I have never compared selection or prices.bcharvet(at)bellsouth.net wrote:> I have a local hobby shop that has the 6 in x 12 in plywood that isn't too expensive, but I guess to make all the ribs it would really add up. I was only thinking that if money was real tight, you could at leastget started for a few bucks a week...--------Mark - working on wingsRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... __________

All you'll need after that is alittle bit of glue and plenty of time in the shop and it will start to come together. I'll bet you can scrounge all your woodfor a few bucks, or for the price of your sweat to haul off someold wooden timbers. Hey Shad,I'm still planning on showing up Friday evening, with one of the kiddos. I justmight take you up on that offer to use a tent and air mattress or hangar flooror whatever. I talked to Frank P. and he said he still doesn't have the Lambertback up and running, so he probably won't be making it. I'm looking forward to it! Who else is coming?
