Subject: Pietenpol-List: Douwe and Gene's Home Stretch in Accomplishing the BigKielbasa !It really is GREAT to read of how close we are to having TWO BRAND NEW Pietepols so close to coming off the assembly line in reading the progressreports of Douwe and Gene Rambo's progress.I recall the excitement last year and chatter that spread like WILDFIRE among the Saturday crowd on that sunny Saturday last year at Brodhead when we heardDan Helsper's sweet-sounding Ford A engine coming toward the field from the east and then seeing his gorgeous yellow and black Pietenpol fly overhead wasenough to give you the chills !For all of those late nights alone, cut fingers, hot metal pieces that burned your hands....for all of that T-88 that got in your hair, on your shirts and jeans...for allof the coughing you did after sanding a piece of wood to make it fit just right or look so nice....for all of those little details that you agonized over but slowlyfell into place with perseverance, willpower, and discipline......and mostly for the PASSIONATE attitude you have to have to FINISH one of these plans-builthomebuilts I commend you with the utmost regard and respect for keeping with it year after year after year and NOT giving up. NOT saying screw it.
