One thing I noticed while flying Scout in colder weather withouta cover on the front cockpit is that you get some serious airinto the rear cockpit from that front hole. One thing I would besure to do is to somehow make sure air can't come shooting up yourpants legs, because it will. If you don't have drawstrings orcan't tuck the legs of your pants into your boots, wrapping withduct tape would be advised if you'll be in the air any length oftime.Just my observation on the Texas version of "cold weather" flying.Oscar ZunigaAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"Flying Squirrel N2069Z "Rocket"Medford, OR website at http://www.flysquirrel.net ________________________________________________________________________________Subject: Pietenpol-List: Center Section Mounted!

Hello everybodyJust wanted to say hi. saw this list and it seems pretty cool. my 7 year old sonand just started building a Piet tonight. Standard one piece wing, Model A engineand wood gear.We do have one question to ask. We want a Model-A engine but that wont be for awhile. In the mean time I want to keep my eyes peeled for an engine when I comeacross one. Anything I should be careful for? Any advice on this matter?MikeRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Center Section Mounted!

A one-piece wing requires about 5 people to move it. I am in the process of building my wings and I HIGHLY recommend the 3-piece version. I know nothing of the model A engine. I'm using a Corvair, which I also highly recommend. Good fortune on your project -- whichever way you decide to go. Chuck----- Original Message -----
