All,I would like any comments on my proposed Piet fuselage modifications. Iplan to build a steel tube fuse version using the GN-1 layout, but modifiedto provide more pilot room and considerations to CG and tail featherlocation. The planned pilot weight is 210 pound. Planned engine is a Corvair. NoteI plan to widen and deepen the fuselage at the pilot, but my primary concernis the additional length and where I have added it. Please see the attached .jpeg and see the revised measurements on the upperlayout showing the new measurement and the amount in inches of what I addedto that bay, i.e. +3, +1, etc.The resultant overall fuselage length is 178.5"I would greatly appreciate any constructive comments on my proposed lengthmods. Thanks,MarkLake City, FL________________________________________________________________________________

Mark,I like the idea of adding to the pilot pit, the Grega back pit is really small.I might add 3" to it and only 2" to the front bay, you can add an inch or moreto the engine mount. You may want to make a mock-up of the pilot pit area,I am somewhat smaller than you and my Grega pit is non too big. If you found thepit too small even with the 2" or 3" added you could move the diagonal at thetop of the seat aft to get more room. Also, unless you plan to use a J3 landing gear, you could eliminate the 9 1/2"bay and run the aft gear leg back to the same place the aft lift strut hits thelower longeron, like Piet plans.Skip ----- Original Message -----
