Nice writeup, Douwe.I find the same thing, after flying a long leg of a cross-country, I tend toland about 3' above the runway. I find it best to make a full pattern toget some turns in to sort of get the feel of the airplane back. Worst is ifI make a straight-in approach. I need to make at least one turn, to haveany chance at a decent landing.Jack PhillipsNX899JPSmith Mountain Lake, Virginia _____

Really enjoying your reports Douwe. Thanks for sharing your experience. Thatbit about flying through the parachutes cracked me up... had me going for a secondas I read that. Ha! The photos look way cool... you have a really neat looking airplane.--------Mark ChouinardWings, Center Section and Empannage and Fuse framed up - Working on Landing GearRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: A cold fall flight...In Calif, Too!

Beautiful pictures, Gary. I flew to Oroville And then to Corning today. Corning is on 123.00 Unicom ,so I thought about asking those in the pattern at Lincoln if they saw a beautiful Pietenpol flying around! Sounded as though Lincoln was pretty busy today. I will find you someday.RaySent from my iPadOn Nov 3, 2012, at 3:12 PM, "Gary Boothe" wrote:> Great story, Douwe! Mine=99s not nearly so good: Cold 68 deg Fall day in N.
