Sunny Perth, on the West Coast, and bordering on the Indian Ocean. Just North of Margaret River, where all the surfers come from.> Ouch! To:Subject: Pietenpol-List: Happy New YearHope 2008 will be a safe, exciting andproductive year for all of you. Your a greatgroup and besides being very interesting you've been so very helpful. I alwayslook forward to checking my e-mail to check for Piet postings. As some of you may remember I rebuilt my A 65 and did a few other changes to myPiet. Even tho I didn't build my Piet, with your help it all worked out great.Between work and weather I'm not getting tofly as often as I would like. Hopefully2008 will change all that. I heard from Randy Bush last week and he indicated he has the wings on his newPiet and he had been doing taxi tests. How about it Randy, how about a report.Gene in Tennessee ________________________________________________________________________________

If you really want to do safe aerobatics I'd change it to a biplane with aswept upper wing, a 180 hp Lycoming with an inverted fuel and oil system, asymmetrical airfoil and a constant speed prop. Seriously, if you want aerobatic, build something else, like a PittsSpecial. I did aerobatics in my J-3 Cub years ago. When I recovered it, Ifound every rib in the elevators were bent. I haven't done anything otherthan wingovers in the Pietenpol.Jack PhillipsNX899JP-----Original Message-----

Ralph... I'm glad you were able to get out. It sure does break up the winter blahswhen you can get out and fly! I just bought an old set of wood Jacobsenskis that still have Chief rigging on them. I have them all apart and am refinishingthem right now. I hope to have them on our Chief in the next week orso. I'm anxious to try them! Gonna be tough to beat the Piet in the fun departmentthough!Don EmchNX899DERead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Happy New Year
