Hello again group.I have had a large response to the magnetos I mentioned earlier so Iwill post the source here. Yes they really are $14.95 US. I sent apersonal check to : Army Surplus Warehouse, 635 w. Broadway, P.O. Box1523, Idaho Falls, ID. 83403, 208-529-4753. I opened one of mineand compared it side by side with a Slick taken from a Cont. O-200. Most part numbers are the same. Only slight differences in the case. Italked directly with Slick and they confirmed the quality. Niether theynor the supplier knows what type of engine these mags fit but that itwas most likely a GPU (Ground Power Unit). They come brand new, sealedin the box. For 15.00 bucks it might be worth your money to find out ifthey would work for you. To be clear, I am not the supplier, I justwanted to pass along a possible bargin. Let me know what you think. Chad-----Original Message-----

I was looking at the pictures in the flying and gliding manualand it looks like there is a single magneto unit on the Model Aconversion. I thought that there was one mag for each cylinder?Do I need one or four? Thanks,Mike BellColumbia, SCPatrick Panzera on 06/24/99 04:59:10 PMPlease respond to Pietenpol Discussion cc:Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: $15.00 MagnetosMichael King wrote:>> Just brought 4 new Slick Magnetos from> these folks at 12:27pm Dallas time. I guess that would be ultra reliable, but I don't think the headswould hold up very long with four spark plugs. Thanks, I'll just order one.Mike BellColumbia, SCPS - are there any Piets under construction or flying in NorthernVirginia or Central Maryland? I'm on a customer site and willbe here Monday through Friday for a year. I just went to thelocal EAA chapter meeting last night and learned everything thatthere is to know about balancing a propeller. I got lost andmissed the first presentation about welding, but it was good tobe among people with the same illness.Randall Reihing on 06/25/99 10:58:52AMPlease respond to Pietenpol Discussion cc:Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: $15.00 MagnetosMike, That one mag has four ignition leads, one to each sparkplug. You will dofine with just one mag. I have never seen a Model A with fourmags, although that might be interesting.
