Gary, I think the bevel of the rear spar is due to the inside dimension of the spar area of the capstrip is 4 3/4", but the aft dimension is slightly less! This means that you don't need a wedge, you need to actually bevel the top of the rear spar. I've even considered trimming the spar height by the difference and using wedges, but leaning toward beveling the whole spar.
