Aluminum ribs to wooden spars is common, as stated here. Many otherantiques also used them, the Fleet, Curtiss Robin, and Davis to name a few. One thing to be cautions of, though, is the nails used. Citibrias have anAD on them where all the nails have to be replaced with ribbed nails thatlook kind of like paneling nails because they are backing out and allowingthe rib to eat into the top and bottom of the spar. I do not know whattype of rib you are building or how the spar opening is cut out, but beaware of this problem.________________________________________________________________________________
