Group-Sorry, no government views or pronouncements on our burgeoning bureaucracy fromthis Piet builder. Just need some step-by-step help with making asimple cowling for my "A".I can't seem to hold everything together in alignment long enough to getholes drilled and clecoes in place. As usual, I'll keep trying until I finallyfigure it out but some enlightenment might cut down on the amount of scrap aluminumI am generating.I counted 15 Piets at the Brodhead reunion. A new participant (to me) was a Scoutfrom the museum at Blakesburg. It was built in the 70's by Ed Sampson and ???and was a great piece tog hints. Conspicuously absent wereFrank Pavliga and Mike Cuy. Kim Stricker was there videoing everything but hisGN-1 has a sick engine so he drove up. Randy Bruce from FL sold his Piet 2 daysbefore the fly-in so he stayed home to keep working on his new one. Lots ofnew faces as well as many promises from familiar faces that next year will seea group of newly completed Piets. Seems to me thatone of these days there will be a flood of new ones judging by the number of peoplewho are building and coming to the reunion regularly. Emch from OH, Bergerfrom NE, Larson from FL, me from KY and others should be just about there. Standby........one of these days, we'll blot out the sun!Larry________________________________________________________________________________

I realize y'all are talking about cowls for those air-cooledhorizontally-opposed power plants, but I've seen a very nice cowl for aModel-A on a Super Ace. It was build by Mark Lightsey. He completely faredin the block by hammering aluminum until he got the complex shape he wanted.I'ts beautiful.http://members.tripod.com/~Mark_Lightsey/Robert HainesMurphysboro, Illinois (moving soon to Du Quoin, Illinois)
