One of the Tony Bingelis books (I think it is Sportplane ConstructionTechniques) has a section on instruments. All four of those books should berequired reading for anyone building a Pietenpol.Instruments required by the FAA are Airspeed indicator, Altimeter, Compass,Oil Pressure, Oil Temp (if air-cooled engine), Water Temp (if water-cooledengine) and fuel gage. You should probably also have a tachometer. Why buy an auto compass? I bought a perfectly good Airpath aircraft compasson eBay for $11.Jack Phillips -----Original Message-----
