Hi BretI made the same (mistake, uninformed decision, what have you?) about tenyears ago. Not to worry, John Grega's GN-1 is a very good airplane designedaround what were then readilly available J3 Cub parts and the 65Hpcontinental. Built to plans they fly well. Kim Stricker often has hisyellow GN-1 at Brodhead and willingly gives rides. The Piet as BernardPietenpol designed it has some very signifigant historical value and alsoflies well. I'm sure you will get many replies to your question. Weight themall carefully and then go build. I have the 1933 Pietenpol plans andGrega's. By now my aircraft is not really either, but a blend of both and myown ideas. It wiil be fun to park it between a Grega and a Piet and watch tosee who notices what! What ever route you choose build safe and have fun!John Mc-----Original Message-----

Thanks to all who responded. To those who posted a photo to the list and not to my email personally... I'll never see it! I'm on the digest version of the list, which does not pass attachments through.I got a beautiful side view picture of Mike Hayes riding passenger in Bill Rewey's Piet. Should give me the info I needed. Also got a very useful picture of a lovely lady riding passenger in Mike Cuy's Piet. Mike seems to be a chick magnet with his airplane, not to mention that he is now infamous for that clip on his video where he provides a helping hand to a female's backside to get her into the passenger cockpit. You'll never live that one down, Mike ;o)Oscar ZunigaSan Antonio, TXmailto: taildrags(at)hotmail.comwebsite at http://www.flysquirrel.net________________________________________________________________________________Subject: RE: Pietenpol-List: photosDate: Wed, 15 Feb 2006 14:39:01 -0500
