I was fitting my lower motor mount fittings today. I tend to make everything fit tight. So, I had to persuade them to slide into place a couple oftimes. I hammered away with a rubber hammer and a regular hammer with wood.When I got done I noticed there was not one scratch or chip in the epoxyprimer. I have used lots of paint over the years and usually ruin my lovelypaint job with the slip of a screw driver or something. I am so glad I bitthe bullet and spent the extra money for epoxy primer. Down here in Floridawe are alway battling against corrosion. Just so everyone knows, there are epoxy primers and there are Epoxy Primers.I first used Randolph's "Epibond" epoxy primer on my project. While it isdefinitely more durable than enamel, it can still be scraped off. Then Iswitched to Stits Poly Fiber Epoxy Primer and the only way I've found to marit is heavy sandblasting, and that takes a while. It is expensive, but iswell worth the price, if you want your Piet to be around for a few years.Jack -----Original Message-----
