Plus,it --- makes it a lot easier to get in and out of --- ." It looks like he raisedthe entire wing 8 inches, and it certainly looks easier to get in and outof (very important for a 76 year old). Does anyone have any comments on this modification?I'd sure like to get hold of Mel Marquette, but so far have beenunsuccessful through EAA. Also, does anyone know what an Alexander Eagle Rockis? I raised mine 2". I too heard about the 8" lift. To me it seems excessive. I'm not sure how that will affect flight. Seems like power increases will cause a drastic nose up tendancy.... but maybe not.DJ ----- Original Message -----

There were severalversions of them made and apparently were quite good designs.Mr. Pientenpol did raise the height of his wings from the fuselage in laterplanes he built. Looking at the Pietenpol's this past year at Brodhead, itwas quite common to see that they had been raised about 6". Also, the crossbracing of the cables on the right side of the forward cockpit was replacedwith a strut going from the engine mount to the top of the wing cabane.This also facilitated the ease of shifting the wing fore or aft for CGpurposes.Hope this helps.Alex Sloan----- Original Message -----
