For Sale or Trade - Model A engine, disassembled...A few years ago I bought a Model-A engine for $300 from a guy who wasgetting out of his car hobby. I got an engine with everything needed for aconversion and I was going to put it in a Corbin Super Ace. Things liketransmission bell and exhaust manifold weren't included but the carb, intakemanifold, waterpump, etc. are. I stopped construction of the Super Acerealizing I started the wrong project and there the engine sat. Regardless, out of boredom, I took the engine apart a few months ago.It seems to be a decent engine, but I have to assume that it had a problemwith the number two cylinder because that cylinder is sleeved. Also, thetwo water jacket holes adjacent to that cylinder has a crack stopped bydrilling at the end of the crack and inserting a plug. It's fairly smalland seems to be a quality repair. I don't know if this would be detrementalto a rebuild since a rebore would be in order anyway and the crack is smalland repaired. I would appreciate input from the group.Anyway, it's taking up space in the garage and I'm not going to use it, soif anyone in the neighborhood is interested, let me know. It's currentlydisassembled with all parts organized or otherwise tagged.Robert HainesDu Quoin, Illinois (on highway 51 south of Interstate 64)________________________________________________________________________________
