Guys,I bought a Continental A-50-3 on ebay a week and a half ago. The guy thathas it lives about 10 miles from Kitty Hawk in a town called Wanchese, NC.I need to have it shipped back to Minneapolis but he is a pain in the buttto deal with because if he took the cylinders off and boxed them separately,the whole thing could be shipped for about 100 bucks. He originally agreedto do this before I bid. After the auction closed, he changed his mind.Now shipping looks more like 300-350 bucks which is way out of line.I will be driving a car back from Connecticut on Interstate 80 sometime inthe next few weeks. Chris,If the A-50 is like the other Continentals he just made a major discovery.The cylinders don't come off easy. They are probably the WORST part of arebuild. I live in Virginia Beach and have hangars at PVG and SFQ. If youcan get the engine up to the Virginia Carolina border you can store it inone of my hangars and maybe we can leap frog it back to you. Takes a longertime but shipping and storage are free. Better yet get away from thoseMinneapolis winters and come down where the weather is grand in the winter(50 today and sunny). Around mid February this place will look like theBahamas to someone from your part of the country.
