First AB-DAR Performs First InspectionEAA senior aviation information specialist and volunteer amateur-built designatedairworthiness representative (AB-DAR) Joe Norris performed his first airworthinessinspection on Saturday, April 3, at Crystal Airport (KMIC) in Minneapolis,Minnesota. Norris was the first AB-DAR to become officially certificatedto perform inspections under the new FAA program developed in cooperation withEAA. The airplane was a Pietenpol Aircamper built by Dick Navratil, Minneapolis.Upon successful completion of the inspection, Navratil was issued an airworthinesscertificate for his newly completed airplane, N-2RN. Dave Smith, supervisorfrom the MSP Manufacturing Inspection District Office (MIDO), observedthe inspection.________________________________________________________________________________
