Subject: Pietenpol-List: Brodhead ' 04 Fantastic! What a great experience! Great airplanes, great friendly people, good food -- fantastic! This was the best aviation event I've ever been to, bar none but my first trip to Oshkosh in 1970!!! (Or was it '71?) Learned a lot about Pietsfrom Vi Kappler, Ford engines from Ken Perkins, carburetors from Terry ....(sorry!), building wings from Charlie Rubeck, and had a nice visit with "Long-distance Chuck" and several other builders. It was magnificent! Came home with lots of info, a set of ribs (not the BBQ kind either!), Vi Kappler's hinges and lots of inspiration! A million thanks to all the BrodheadEAA folks, the guys who brought their Piets for the rest of us to look at, thecooks, and everyone who had anything to do with this wonderful event -- I'll beback next year! And by the way, three cheers for Bernie Pietenpol who made all of this possible 75 years ago when he designed and built this great, sturdy little plane!Fred B.La Crosse, WI________________________________________________________________________________Date: Mon, 26 Jul 2004 17:54:07 -0700 (PDT)
