Let me be the first to say, dont do it.When I got mine signed off in April, I wanted to get it out right away andasked the same questions. I had been flying a twin for the last 7 yearswith a modest 1200 time. The group here advised me to get someone to testfly off the first 10+ hours which probably was the best advice. I had totransport the plane to another airport for the test area and re-assemble. Itook my time and got adequate instruction in a Champ with a C-90. I flewfrom the rear seat, instruments being in the front. I could only see thetops on the ASI and Tach. I did over 100 takeoffs and landings and myinstructor gave lots of help with things to expect. The Champ is heavierand has a larger engine but the handling is similar. There is a lot to know for a taildragger. Before I even attempt a wheellanding I'm going back for a refresher.Be safe.Dick N.----- Original Message -----
