Well, I finally took the time to visit Chuck's website and it paid off (for me, at least). Simple ideas are always the best, and Chuck's simple airframe jack is just what I needed. I'll be removing the landing gear legs from 41CC one last time to sandblast and paint them and I had planned to climb up into the hangar framing to install a hoist to lift the plane so I could remove the gear. No need... Chuck's simple jack will be how I do it. You size up the dimensions to position it just an inch or two behind the firewall,while the tail is on the ground. It should be snug right up against the bottomof the plane, that way the mains come up off the ground as you lift the tail. I lift the tail using my right hand, on the left side tube on the tail wheel, and it's a little bit heavy, so just remember...Lift with your Legs, notyour Back. The top of the stand needs to be tied back to the bottom of the liftstruts, too, or the stand slides forward on the bottom of the plane. This stand works very well for me, and I've used many, many times. Only takes a couple of minutes, by myself, to jack the plane up.
