I made brackets from .065 4130 and attached them to the landing gear to fuselage attach bolts. Rigged the skis to AC 43-13 , and made a wheel penetration tail ski from an aluminium shovel. Cut a rectangular hole in the shovel and used .050 4130 brackets riveted to the shovel to hold the wheel. I have found absolutely no difference in flight characteristics on skis.
