Mike,Flew my Piet from Thomasville, Ga to Camden, Tn. using the same knee board method with the cut strips of sectional charts. Works great. I did have a cheap hand held GPS as a back up but didn't find I needed it with all of the water towers around. Not long ago I was reading an article in the EAA Sport Mag where the pilot wrote of doing a cross country and wrote about having a sign in his cockpit that reminded him to beware of becoming bored while flying.
