Kernal Corky (and cousin Nathan)- The CAF up in Tulsa is restoring an L-3 and theyhavean excellent info piece on the L-3 on the second page of their March, 2008newsletter, here:http://www.caftulsa.org/gallery/NewsLet ... Apparently the main difference between the early and the later L-3s is that thelater oneshad wider fuselage, of course the "greenhouse" windows, and different engines.Be sure toscroll on down to Pg. 9 in the Tulsa newsletter to the pictures of their Defenderwhen theyfirst got it, and Tulsa is probably close enough to Shreveport that you could goup thereand take a look at it. Or coerce Col. Jim Markle up there to go take pictures.Col. Well, I am going to the Tulsa airport tomorrow (flying to Philly for the week) but won't have time to swing by the CAF hangar. Actually, I think it's at Riverside Airport (on the south side of Tulsa) anyway. One of our local pilots has a beautifully restored L-3. Next time I see THAT one I'll take some pictures...I've been spending my spare time working on the Piet cowling and some engine mount stuff but will gladly go take some pics when I'm NOT working on the Piet! :-)----- Original Message -----
