In the mid 80's I built a Heath Super Parasol and fabricated a canvas seat sling.At the time, I got the material from AC Spruce but they don't have it listednow. It's the same canvas used in the J3 and Taylorcraft seat slings. This makesa very comfortable seat and super light too.
