Subject: Pietenpol-List: flying low over farm fieldsGreat fun that is Shad. I learned my lesson though to scope out for wires, but good, about 10 years ago when I came around a stand of trees over flat farmland and came upon high tension wires-fortunately the wires were about 2,000 feet ahead of me so I had plenty of time to divert. I was down low chasing a friend in his Cub ala the Kessler/Pepper scenes in The Great Waldo Pepper. (but not with near the theatrics or engine noises) Great fun but you really have to know the field (s) well.________________________________________________________________________________

Subject: RE: Pietenpol-List: flying low over farm fieldsYes...I'm the third greatest pilot in the world behind Kessler and Waldo Pepper:) Yeah, right !!!I actually lost a good dogfight to a 73 year old guy by the name of Bob White flying his Cub on mytail. I seriously could not shake Bob so I smoked him-and looked back, he's weaving and goingall over the place because he couldn't see squat in the smoke-he was that close to me. Great funbut I was humbled-he was a good stick !Tell us how you fought the black and yellow German...... Ernst Kessler....... you fought Ernst Kessler?________________________________________________________________________________Date: Thu, 6 Aug 2009 11:38:00 -0700 (PDT)

Come on up any time. Bring your elevators if you want to learn how to recover andwe'll see if we can get them straight.Putting the static port in the propwash never works real well with the Piets. I'dbe happy to help you re-route the static line to it's proper spot. There'salways room in the shop for another Piet!Drop me an e-mail if you'd like to come up, by Piet or car, it's not that far.[Wink] Rob--------NX29NX, C65, Hegy prop, Blue/Cream flying!NX31TM, C85-12, GN-1, 90% done, Red/CreamNX30NX, Corvair, on gear, wings/tail doneNX31NX, Hatz CB-1, O-320B, on gear, ribs doneRead this topic online here:

She's not 6'2", but she's not 5'2" either . Karen is about 5' 9" tall. Shedoesn't seem to have any problem climbing into the front seat.Jack PhillipsNX899JP-----Original Message-----
