Subject: Pietenpol-List: Thank goodness for Dee Mosher Doc and Dee Mosher publish our Brodhead Pietenpol Association Newsletter. Inthe latest issue Dee outlined the amazingbiography of her husband pilot/mechanic (and probably father and grandfather) and I want to congratulate Dee for twistingDoc's arm in allowing her to publish the MUCH deserved awards that Doc rec'd recentlyin the Fourth Quarter, 2009 Issue of the BPANthat I just read tonight. Normally at every Brodhead event I listen to new jokes that Doc has heard overthe past year and try to surprise Doc witha few new ones of my own but tonight when I read the article that Dee publishedabout Doc's bio and FAA awards itreally set me back in my seat. I have the highest regards for Doc--despite all of the rations of baloney thatwe have joked about over the years. I am verygrateful for your and Dee's dedication to producing and sending our BPAN newsletterout every four quarters and want tosalute you on your "Forrest Gump of Aviation" article where Dee highlighted Doc's1994 FAA Charles Taylor "Master MechanicAward" (for having your A&P for more than 50 years) and just this past summerat Oshkosh for Doc receiving the Wright Brother's Master Pilot Award. Whereby both awards require "no actions or accidentslogged against any certificates" We are very fortunate to have Doc and Dee putting up with us and publishing thisfine newsletter four times a year. After all, wouldn't you think that Doc, at 84 might want to retire sometime ? (Dee is too young...she's 59) My favorite quote from Doc happened during Oshkosh 2009 when we were watching theRutan/Branson White Knight IIfly-by's one afternoon. Doc said: "boy, those guys sure are flying a nice, tightformation, aren't they ?"
