I've done a thorough search on this list's archive, and I'm pretty sure that evenif it is done, it is not posted on this list.Only thing we can be sure is that all four configurations (3/4" full, 1" routed,1" I-beam, 1 1/4" box spar) have been built in numbers and flying safely. Itis not quite clear to me if box spar is mandatory modification in UK to geta licence, or just preferred way of building it.I would love to see a table with columns with weight figures and relative strengthcompared to, for instance, 3/4" solid spruce spar, price figure and time neededto build it. That way we would know which spar is most reasonable to build.Anyway, maybe it is not a bad thing for everyone to build by his intuitionand preferences.Regards,Ivantaildrags(at)hotmail.com wrote:> Has anyone done any structural analysis of any of> the Piet spars... either the stock solid spruce, or> the routed, or the built-up in any configuration?> I'd like to compare notes on some calculations that> I've done.> > thanks.> > Oscar Zuniga> Air Camper NX41CC> San Antonio, TX> mailto: taildrags(at)hotmail.com> website at http://www.flysquirrel.netRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Re Tapes over fuse stringersDate: Thu, 03 Dec 2009 11:10:22 -0500

I put on a second layer of fabric in lieu of the tapes, makes for a super smooth finish.Jim Malley ----- Original Message -----
