Rick;Per the Poly-Fiber covering manual, where thefabric goes on the butt rib it should be cementedbut on the rest of it, not. Pg. 18 of themanual, dealing with wing covering (but it getsmore general), says "Brush two coats of thinnedPoly-Brush onto the leading edge to provide a"bedding" that will help adhesion and reduce thepossibility of pinholes in the finish coat.Actually, all large metal, wood, or fiberglassparts that will be covered with fabric should getthese two coats of Poly-Brush."After the fabric goes over those two dried coatsand you start to wet it out with the Poly-Brushover the fabric, it will soften the underlyingcoats and adhere the fabric to the wood. But asI read the manual, the part that overlaps the butt ribs should be cemented down with Poly-Tak.If you're using the equivalent Stewart system, same thing should apply.Oscar ZunigaAir Camper NX41CCSan Antonio, TXmailto: taildrags(at)hotmail.comwebsite at http://www.flysquirrel.net ________________________________________________________________________________

Hi Rick,I remember wondering the same thing. When I built my center section I basicallyused three ribs. I just cut out the center area of the center rib. By doingthat the plywood floor was unsupported so I cut a 1/2" thick piece of stockwith the undercamber contour and glued it to the inside of the floor right wherethe rib would have been. Then I glued a 1/8" x 1/2" strip to the undersideof the plywood floor right in line with where the center rib would have beento simulate the bottom capstrip. When I covered the center section I just gluedthe fabric to the end ribs then drilled small holes through the plywood flooralong side my 1/2" thick piece of stock that was in place of my center rib. These holes were spaced to allow for the proper spacing of rib stitching withinthe prop wash. Then I rib stitched that center "rib" through those holes. After covering, the underside of the center section looks like any other areaof the wing and the ribstitching allows for the fabric to be pulled up intothe undercamber. I'll see if I can find pictures, it would sure help make itmore clear!Don EmchRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Center section covering
