Although I am normally in South Texas, at the moment I'm sitting in Medford, Oregonpondering the 30+ MPH winds that are howling through the Rogue Valley. Welived here for nearly 10 years and are poised to being moving back here butour doggone house in San Antonio won't sell.Anyway, the Piet in Rockport/Aransas Pass that you're referring to is more thanlikely the beautiful Ford "A"-powered Piet that belongs to Ron and Pat Hollmer.I have only seen pictures of it but it's a very nice airplane. I've plannedto fly down there and get together with Ron ever since he moved down there, not just to see him and the airplane but because our youngest son is a boat captainand fishing guide in nearby Port Aransas and I've been promising him anair tour of the area in my Piet. Maybe we can pull it together this spring??--------Oscar ZunigaSan Antonio, TXAir Camper NX41CCRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ______Date: Tue, 19 Jan 2010 17:21:31 -0500 (EST)

I did mine by feel and sound. They should go "Thummm", not "Pinnnng", andshould all be close to the same pitch. However, make sure that in trying toget the right tension on the wires that you don't shift the rigging of theairplane. The wire's purpose is to maintain the geometry of the airplane. As long as they are not slack they can do their job.Jack PhillipsNX899JPRaleigh, NC-----Original Message-----

Oscar,You are exactly right. It is Ron Hollmer whom I met last Sunday and his airplaneis BEAUTIFUL. With our traditional coastal winds, he handled the Piet with easeon take off and landing. He does have a Ford engine and homemade wooden prop. The paint schemeis eye catching. The spoke motorcycle tires and straight axle gear just add to the ambiance. Please come down and let's have a Coastal Bend fly-in. Three Piets flying alongthe Gulf Coast beachline would be a treat. Fishing would be an added bonus. Thanks Oscar.....MikeGN-177MK ----- Original Message -----
