Pietenpol-List: Rear turtle deck-stab question

The plans for the long fuselage show a measurement of 18 7/8 inches for thedistance between the rear of the turtle deck and back of the tail post. Theshort plans show as 18 inches. Am I missing something here? The horizontalstabilizer cord is 18 inches. Shall we go with this?Thanks,JackDSM________________________________________________________________________________

Jack,I did not catch that before building, but definitely realized it after Istarted fitting the stabilizer. You can see the piece of 'filler' here. Onegood thing, is that it gave me something to round off nicely for thetransition. Gary BootheCool, Ca.PietenpolWW Corvair Conversion, mountedTail done, Fuselage on gear(16 ribs down.) _____

Just make it fit. Be sure to give yourself allowance for fabric and paint.I think you would want a gap of 1/8" or so between the end of the turtledeckand the stab. I never noticed the discrepancy because I had my stab mountedwhen I built the turtledeck and just made everything fit.Jack PhillipsNX899JPRaleigh, NC _____
