Dan,Many years ago I was working on a project that included horse barns andstalls. A guy was installing rubber matting in the stalls and had quite afew scraps that he gave me. Some of the 'scraps' were 3' square, big enoughto use as floor padding in my shop; others were considerably smaller. Youcan see in the attachments that this stuff is about 1/2" thick and verytough. Free for me is free for you, if you're interested. I haven't figured out anelegant way of finishing it, but I'm sure you can. Ken;I have a Culver 72x36 on my A75 Air Camper.
