Subject: Pietenpol-List: Ken Bicker's 17 year old son passes Private Pilot Exam! Now there's some GREAT NEWS Ken and what a proud day that must have been for you yesterday afternoon when your son receivedhis Private Pilot rating. Good for LIFE now ! How many other young people at 17 can say that they are FAA Certificated Private Pilotsthese days ? So many young people are not taking advantage of the wide open field of flying, aviation,and aviation related careers that are blossoming worldwide. I know it isn't a trivial matter to finance a private rating but in the big scopeof things you can't buy a low end Kia for what you can get your private ticket for these days and the car will rust and fall apart but your son'sprivate pilot rating will never fade. He'll have it for life.What a day to celebrate ! At the end of 2008 there were only 613,000 Certificated pilots in the United States of America and only 223,000 ofthem held Private Certificates. (well now 223,001 According to the US Census Bureau our current population in the US is 310,994,608 peopleso that means that there is only ONE Private Pilot for every 1,394 people living in the United States.To me that's very, very special and to be 17 and have that accomplishment under your son's belt must be a really proud moment to you, him, and yourfamily !Mike C.________________________________________________________________________________Subject: Pietenpol-List: A timing cover
