Today I pulled two cylinders off to get a good look inside of my 1947 engine.It was removed from a PA-11 back in 1983, pickled and stored. It has only1300TT and 300SMOH. My IA friend was very excited by what he sawinside. No apparent corrosion & everything was very tight. We checked a few tolerances and they were within new specs. I put it back together with asound mind about my acquisition. The only question he had for me was ifI wanted to put it back together and see if it would run. I thought we shouldwait till we look at everything on it. I got my prop carving CD directly from Dan at Brodhead 2009, and I can attest tothe quality of the information presented in it. I haven't carved a prop yetbased on the information, but he makes it look easy enough that anyone who canbuild the rest of the airframe should be able to carve a good usable prop. It is presented in a friendly manner of "this is how I did it", and not "thisis how it HAS TO BE DONE." If you are interested in carving your own prop, thisCD is a worthwhile source of information. p.s. I'm not a paid spokesman for this product and this statement is purely myown opinion.
