Last weekend I went up to Iowa to visit the rest of my family in Boone. My dadand I made our down to the "Woodsmith Store" In Des Moines where I bought some5/4 rough cut(6") Douglas fir. It cost $25.00 for a five foot length. I cut itand half and started my center section. My dad, who has no interest in aviationhelped me use his planer and jointer to get the lumber to spec. After seeingthe beauty of the wood after the first pass through the planer I will no doubtbuy the remaining spars and longerons from this store. And best of all theycome in 16 ft lengths at no charge for the "lengthy" boards. Here are somephotos. The ribs are not done and I know they do not "match" but I am not sureif I am going to put the reinforced ribs on the center section as I plan on webbingthem the plywood anyway.--------Airspeed, altitude or brains: Two are always needed to successfully complete theflight.Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ttachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/img_ ... __________
