Dan, My thoughts are failed to tighten it....maybe finger tight. I worked 40 yearson 2000 to 15,000 hp engines with tons of compression fittings, mainly TyLockand Swagelock. Never saw one loosen up. I saw lots of fatigue cracks and someoutright breaks of the tubing. There was a lot of vibration on those bad boys. The turbines would develop high frequency vibration too. That's my $0.02--------Jerry Dotson59 Daniel Johnson RdBaker, FL 32531Started building NX510JD July, 2009thru covering and painting, now in final assembly21" wheelsLycoming O-235 C2CJay Anderson CloudCars prop 76 X 44Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Taxi testing NX510JD

I taxied my Piet over the weekend........life is good. I am going to have to geta DAR ($500)to do the certification. FSDO in Birmingham just flat told me theywere not doing it. Excuse was don't have the money for gas! I am on slow burnright now. I have an issue....static I think. When I run the engine up some say 1500 rpmthe airspeed shows about 20 mph sitting still. I did not run a static line, justvented inside the panel. Reckon I could run a line out the bottom of the panelinto the cockpit and solve the problem? That is the only issue I had. The airplane taxied great. The engine ran fine. I got a 2300 rpm static from theCloudcars 76 X 44 prop.--------Jerry Dotson59 Daniel Johnson RdBaker, FL 32531Started building NX510JD July, 2009thru covering and painting, now in final assembly21" wheelsLycoming O-235 C2CJay Anderson CloudCars prop 76 X 44Read this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ttachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/a43_ ... __________
