Continental A65's use 1-1/2" diameter exhaust stacks. Lycomings use 1-3/4".For Stainless most use .035" wall. I would buy the flanges from ACS. Besure you shield the inside of the tubing during the welding process. Theargon from the TIG torch will shield the exterior of the weld but with suchthin material the inside of the tube will be nearly as hot and unshieldedunless you make provisions for it. Best way is to fill the tube with argonand plug the ends, then weld before the argon can leak out. To tell whenthe tube is full of argon, if you can stick a lit match inside the tube andit stays lit you still have oxygen in there.If you do not shield the tube interior, the exhaust system will crack in thefirst 50 hours (ask me how I know).Jack PhillipsNX899JPSmith Mountain Lake, Virginia _____

Mike,502Rocket has these stainless wraps on each rear pipe. They meet at a Y-connector then feed the carb heat box. I can take some detailed pictures this weekend when I am out at the hangar if you are interested. The straight pipes are good 'n loud too. Michael, for my first exhaust system I used stainless flanges, straightstacks and curves from Aircraft Spruce. They worked great for the first 40hours then began cracking due to the lack of shielding during welding asmentioned before.
