If you will google the following terms, you will find a wealth of information onthe Stromberg Carb:Neal Wright Stromberg float levelNeal Wright Stromberg mixtureThe articles have excellent sketches, and detail that has been lost or forgottenas the guys who earned that knowledge some 60 (or more) years ago are no longerwith us.These articles are a MUST if you have a Stromberg--------Tom KreinerRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: brake disk thickness

Subject: Pietenpol-List: brake disk thicknessPaul-- my stainless discs are 1/8" thick and work fine. I personally wouldn't have gone any thinner in the effortof saving weight. You can build a stock Pietenpol with goodies like brakes without it being too heavy. ________________________________________________________________________________Date: Wed, 12 Dec 2012 09:45:05 -0600Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: First flight of Don Harpers new Pietenpol

Mike do find your manual brakes provide enough stopping force. I was planning onHydrolic.Sent from my iPadJack TextorOn Dec 12, 2012, at 8:38 AM, "Cuy, Michael D. Subject: Pietenpol-List: stopping authorityJack--Yes. The Comet racing go-kart brakes I'm using do provide enough authority to help in ground taxiing, turning, but mostly are used for runup and they only hold me to about 1400 rpm. I never use the brakes on takeoff or landing as they aren't necessary unless you get yourself into a dire straits approximating an impending ground loop. Your hydraulics should provide a little more umph I would imagine. Mike C.PS- the photo shows the 4130-fabricated brake pedals I made up. Heel brakes very similar to what youwould find in an Aeronca or Cub. Spring return action, easy to operate. ________________________________________________________________________________Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: stopping authority
