TriScout:Why would anyone need to approve anything that you do to your experimental aircraftif it's already registered and airworthy? If you have it installed by thetime the annual condition inspection is conducted, it will be inspected likeany other part of the aircraft, but you don't need approval or sign-off on it.I would make a logbook entry in the airframe log to document the change. Thecaveat is that you must decide whether adding the trim tab constitutes a "majorchange" or not. Here's the definition from 14 CFR 21.93:A minor change is one that has no appreciable effect on the weight, balance, structuralstrength, reliability, operational characteristics, or other characteristicsaffecting the airworthiness of the product. All other changes are majorchanges.--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 powerRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Off Subject

Well, from the West Coast builders to you Piet folks on the East Coast, best wishesfor a joyful and blessed Christmas! And just out of curiosity, do you eastcoast and southern Pieters consider Sun 'n' Fun as your unofficial Piet gathering?I guess it's 'only' 840 miles from Atlanta to Brodhead, but that's moreof a stretch than the 454 miles from Atlanta to Lakeland so I figured it wasthe best opportunity for Piets to gather down there, or possibly the 460 milesto the Lee Bottom Flying Field in Hanover, IN.--------Oscar ZunigaMedford, ORAir Camper NX41CC "Scout"A75 powerRead this topic online here:http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.p ... ___Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: Arrow Fest III...sorta...

Since I've flown my Pietenpol to Brodhead 5 times, and Oshkosh 3 times, butonly once to Sun 'n'Fun, I wouldn't consider it my unofficial Pietenpolgathering.I'm planning to fly it to Triple Tree next summer. That's probably the bestgrass-roots fly-in this side of the Appalachians.Jack PhillipsNX899JPSmith Mountain Lake, Virginia-----Original Message-----

That would be great to see some Piets at Triple Tree. Their were hundreds of planesthis year and only one Piet that I saw. It was a very nice steel tube plane, white and blue with Mickey and Minnie on the tail. I hung around it for awhile hoping to meet the owner but never did.Merry Christmas everyone,Keith GoffSent from my iPad> On Dec 24, 2013, at 1:08 PM, "Jack Phillips" wrote:> > > Since I've flown my Pietenpol to Brodhead 5 times, and Oshkosh 3 times, but> only once to Sun 'n'Fun, I wouldn't consider it my unofficial Pietenpol> gathering.> > I'm planning to fly it to Triple Tree next summer.
