Very nice work. I built mine with open springs via the Cub/GN-1 plans (but I thinkthe Pietenpol design you used is better). Like a moron I paid no attentionto those that said that the springs should be pre-compressed. So now in orderfor my axles to be horizontal at gross weight I will need to shorten each spring-strutby around an inch and a half. I did add in the 2 degrees of camber like the plans call for... I don't know ifthat will be enough, time will tell.. I think I will wait to finish weld thestruts until after I mount the engine. I have a lot of room to extend or shortenthem where they enter the 1 inch tube that comes out of the spring housing. I also considered building the center a frame like the cub gear so the offsetof the struts wouldn't be necessary, but decided against it.
