That is what the cable type starter is doing for you. Ifyou are running power to your radio through the firewall mounted solenoid thenit might be advantageous to keep it. At least you can shut the power off whenthe plane is parked. Good question. Cu-do's for recognizing it as extra weight or even more stuff togo wrong.
