Hi Scott,Thanks for the link,I like wire wheels but I like balloon wheels at the same time. Those wheels seem to be a bit of both.I am also into restoring 80's road racing bicycles (often ride them to work and back) so lacing up wheels is something I do.Lacing/truing wheels can be both interesting and frustrating!Those wheels look neat with the radial spoke pattern. Yes, I wish I could find fat balloon type tires for mine. It would be nice for thetype flying I do. I currently use 16" motor cycle tires. They are getting harderto find these days. Scott,My grandson is 17 and will take his PPL check ride in a couple weeks, he's a lotbetter pilot than I am. I hope to get my SkyScout flying soon so we can takesome trips together. We have a 1946 7AC Champ and my Waiex, so some flying togethermight be possible. Maybe I will have to build another plane, AirCamper,so we can toodle around together. Charles,Thanks for the encouragement! I hope to go as long as I can. I'm sure if I keep building I will keep flying. Especially if my grandson maintains his interest. In one month he heads to Seattle to start studying engineering. He then plans to go back to school and become a professional pilot! I sure hope that works out. His instructor is a young man (31) who flies A320s for Virgin Atlantic.
