you might want to consider "hoop pine" plywood,,an import from ausie land...strongerand cheaper than mahogany...always advertized in the EAA mags..I think mine cameoutof Texas..JoeCRichard DeCosta wrote:> Harbor Sales (my usual plywood source) has discontinued its line of> 1/8" 5-ply 25x50 plywood, so I need to find another source. Yes there are several one is the Harbor Sales Company they have marine okoume, marine douglas fir, finland birtchaircraft kahaya, marine sapelee and all widths and sizes. If you callthem they'll send you a catalog. If you wanted to save moneyyou could probably use 1/4" marine fir for the floor insteadof mahogany. Marine shouldn't just have the advantageof water proof glue but also no VOIDS where jointsare butted together. Also I wouldn't be afraid to use1/8" or 3mm okume for the sides and using finlandor baltic birtch for inside gussets. The okoume isa little soft however the hardness can be enhancedby coating with epoxy.-----Original Message-----
