Dear Experienced Builders, Are the flying struts on Bernard's plans that are denoted as 2812tubing made of steel or aluminum alloy? I looked in some catalogs to tryand identify this metal to make comparisons to the light struts offeredby Carlson Aircraft. These struts look terribly thin and inner reinforcement looks nonexistent. They look like they would hold up tothe flying loads of a Piet, but weak on compression loads. Maybe a thinplywood inner-core would substantially strengthen them to withstandthese compression loads. Just something to kick around the site. Anyfeedback?Dannymac P.S. THANKS, Doug________________________________________________________________________________
