My experience has been exactly the same (except for the personal deliveryat OSH ;-). I do all my shopping from Wicks. The people that answer thephone seem to be a lot more knowledgable than ASS.KenOn Thu, 19 Aug 1999, Michael D Cuy wrote:> Group- Just as a side note: During the 4.5 years I spent> getting very familiar with the phone, my Mastercard, and> a/c supply catalogs (and don't forget Mr. UPS man) I found> that Wicks a/c Supply in St. Louis was just a way better> company to deal with for building my Piet than Aircraft Spruce> and Specialty. Mike, where was the Wicks advice a year ago? Aircraft Spruce &Specialty knows my American Express Card number very well. They havebeen super and a great supplier if I know what I want. If I don't, theydon't either. Early on I didn't even know what size cotter keys to getand they couldn't help. Their catalog has a lot of information for anew guy though and all in all I'm happy with their service.Copinfo(at)ix.Netcom.ComTim CunninghamDes Moines, Iowa (515) 237-1510Mike, where was the Wicks advice ayearago? I gotta put in a plug for Aircraft Spruce also!! Everything I haveordered has been very good. One minor exception was a good test of theirservice after the sale...some aileron sub-spars (4 pieces) in my Hatzspruce kit were cut 1/16" under size. I discovered this several monthsafter receiving the kit but they replaced them immediately, noquestions, no cost, and please keep the old stuff. Good service! My spruce kit was wonderful. I weeded out 10 or so pieces out of the 200(40 extra) 1/4 sq.cap strip they provided. All else was perfect including end grain wellwithin spec on all 8 wing sparsTuesday I placed an order with Tangee (my rep) in Ca. Wed, 8 am Irecieved a call from AS&S in Ga. to confirm that order was shipping thatday, double check shipping address and method. Again.. personal service.Wicks has been good on everything too.-----Original Message-----
