Yes, the skin of the Jodels was Okoume 1.5 mm. Seems like the African nation of Gabon was once under French rule andOkoume was easy to get in France. Its side hardness is not what true mahogany or birch is but a slight coat of epoxy makes it durableenough for the floor board.
